At The Bluffs Pet Clinic, we understand that sometimes we are unable to help our pets and euthanasia is the best option for them. We respect that while the decision to euthanize your pet is agonizing, the process should be peaceful and non-painful for your pet. We do everything possible to make this experience a less painful one for you as well.

We place an intravenous catheter in your pet to administer sedative drugs and block the pain receptors prior to euthanasia. With this approach, the process of helping your pet move on from this life goes much smoother. It is unlikely that your pet will experience any discomfort. It is more like they will just go to sleep and not wake up. It is a very peaceful process. If your pet is very anxious, we may administer a sedative prior to placing an intravenous catheter.

We use the Veterinary Hospital Association for our cremation services. There are a variety of options for cremation that we can discuss with you. We would be happy to offer you a clay paw print of your pet and a lock of your pet’s hair if you would like.
